Nauti Advice — Marine Advisory

Practical marine advice for resorts, yacht operations and adventure businesses.

Marine businesses need more than documents. They need decisions that hold up under real operating conditions. Nauti Advice brings together hands-on industry experience, legal training and a trusted professional network to make that happen.

The Gap

Where paperwork meets the water.

Things go wrong when the contract, the vessel, the crew and the day-to-day operation do not line up. That gap is where most marine risk lives — and where most marine businesses lose money.

Nauti Advice works in that space: spotting practical risks early, clarifying who is responsible for what, and getting decisions right before small problems turn into expensive ones.

Bridging the gap between what is written on paper and what actually happens on the water.

Approach

Marine advisory support grounded in real operations.

Nauti Advice supports yacht, resort, diving, watersports and adventure marine businesses with practical advice across operations, vessels, procedures, training, contracts and commercial project planning.

The focus is not theory. It is what will actually work on the water, what needs to be clarified before money changes hands, and where to bring in a specialist before a small gap becomes a serious problem.

I

Operational Clarity

Reviewing how vessels, crew, procedures and equipment actually work together day to day — not how they are meant to work on paper.

II

Commercial Awareness

Making sense of service scopes, responsibilities, procurement choices and who carries the risk when something goes wrong.

III

Legally Informed Thinking

Spotting problems in contracts, obligations and documentation before they become disputes — viewed from the deck, not just the desk.

Services

Focused reviews, advisory projects, and broader planning work.

Nauti Advice can support focused reviews, short advisory projects or broader marine planning work depending on the needs of the client.

Discuss a project
01

Marine Operations Advisory

Support for resorts, yacht operations, dive centres, watersports providers and marine businesses that need clearer, safer or more efficient day-to-day operations. Covers vessel use, staffing, procedures, guest experience, maintenance systems, safety controls and practical risk review.

02

Fleet & Vessel Project Support

Hands-on support with vessel selection, specification review, procurement planning, supplier discussions, refit planning, sea trials, inspection reporting and operational suitability. The focus is matching the vessel and equipment to the actual mission — not just the sales brochure.

03

SOPs, Compliance & Training Systems

Development and review of procedures, checklists, training systems and safety documentation built for real teams in real operating environments. Covers practical operating procedures, onboarding structures, emergency processes and equipment-use standards.

04

Contracts & Commercial Support

Operational and commercial review of service agreements, scopes of work, job descriptions, contractor responsibilities, renewal terms and service standards. This is legally informed support — not regulated legal advice.

05

Crew & Maritime Work Guidance

Practical guidance for crew, instructors and marine professionals on contracts, role expectations, pay issues, working conditions and career decisions. This area may expand into resources, templates and referral support over time.

Experience

Experience across practical marine environments.

Nauti Advice draws on experience across sailing, watersports, yacht support, diving operations, resort marine services, vessel procurement, compliance, training and contract support.

The descriptions below are kept general out of respect for client confidentiality.

01

Luxury Resort Marine Operations

High-end island and coastal resort environments — guest experiences, activity fleets, transfer operations, dive and watersports services, crewing and operational planning.

02

Yacht & Small Commercial Vessel Support

Day-to-day yacht operations, small commercial vessels, crew training, practical seamanship, vessel readiness and maintaining operational standards under pressure.

03

Vessel Procurement & Technical Review

Vessel selection, specification review, shipyard liaison, sea trials, supplier coordination and inspection reporting — from the buyer's side of the table.

04

Diving, Watersports & Adventure Operations

Dive centres, watersports teams, excursions, guest-facing activity delivery, equipment management and safety procedures in high-traffic marine environments.

05

Contracts, SOPs & Commercial Risk

Reviewing service agreements, operating scopes, contract obligations, maintenance responsibilities, role descriptions and who carries the risk when things go wrong.

Structure

Founder-led. Network-supported. Project-specific.

Nauti Advice is led by Nathan Skinner, but not limited to one perspective.

Where a project needs additional expertise, Nauti Advice can draw on a trusted network of marine and specialist professionals — captains, instructors, mechanics, surveyors, technical suppliers, legal professionals, designers, shipyards and operational specialists.

Support is shaped around the project, not forced through a single set of hands.

Some projects need a clear independent review. Others need the right people brought into the conversation at the right time.

About Nathan Skinner

Nauti Advice was founded by Nathan Skinner, a marine professional with a background spanning sailing, watersports instruction, yacht operations, resort marine services, vessel procurement, compliance, training and contract support.

Nathan started with practical sailing and boating experience, then moved into broader marine operations and project support. His work has involved the realities of vessels, crew, guests, equipment, maintenance, safety, logistics and service delivery — not just the theory.

He is also completing an LLB, adding legal and commercial rigour to a career built on practical marine operations.

That is the basis of Nauti Advice: someone who understands both the paperwork and the people expected to make it work.

Clearer decisions, better systems and fewer expensive surprises on the water.
